A smash burger gets its crust from full, even contact between hot steel and thin, fast-pressed beef. That takes a press that stays flat and rigid under real pressure on a screaming-hot flat-top — not something that flexes, warps, or slides in your hand.
Our Blackstone smasher is heavy-gauge steel first, everything else second. No stamped sheet metal doing a job it wasn't built for. It's built the way you'd build one for yourself in a fabrication shop — because that's exactly what happened.

A steel shop first, a product company second
Metalworks Cooperative is three family partners building consumer products on top of a steel shop the family already owns and runs. We're pointing that same equipment, material, and hands-on experience at products of our own.
We're not sourcing overseas and putting a label on it. Every piece is cut and bent in-house, by the same people who run the shop, on machines the family already owns.
What's next
The burger smasher is first because it's simple and it fits what the shop already does well. If it lands, the plan is to move into more Blackstone and griddle tools — things like spatulas, tongs, and scrapers — before widening out to other heavy steel goods beyond the kitchen. That's a direction, not a promise, and not a roadmap with dates attached.
